Print pages and use our tools at home and in the classroom. Don't resell our designs.

Keep your account safe

You're responsible for activity on your account. Accounts are for people 13 and older.

Be respectful

Keep anything you share family-friendly and make sure it's yours to share.

Your work stays yours

You keep ownership of what you create and upload. We only get the rights we need to show it on Jolly Grid.

No guarantees, limited liability

Jolly Grid is a free service provided "as is". Our liability is limited as described in the fine print.

2. Who these terms apply to

These terms are an agreement between you and Jolly Grid ("Jolly Grid", "we", "us") and cover jollygrid.com and its tools, printables, accounts and community features (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Some features have extra terms that apply alongside these: the Showcase terms for publishing mandalas, the Official Rules of each giveaway, and the JollyGrid Connect terms for organizations using Connect. If extra terms conflict with these, the extra terms win for that feature.

If you use the Service on behalf of a school or other organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.

3. What you can do

You also agree not to use the Service for anything unlawful, to impersonate others, or to collect other users' personal information.

4. Accounts and age

Creating an account

Give accurate information when signing up. You can use a nickname as your display name, but your email should be real and one you check.

Password security

Choose a strong, unique password and keep it private. You're responsible for all activity under your account. Tell us right away at legal@jollygrid.com if you think someone else has accessed it.

Age requirements

You must be 13 or older to create an account. Children under 13 may use Jolly Grid's tools and printables without an account, under the supervision of a parent, guardian or teacher. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we'll delete it.

Account deletion

You can delete your account anytime from your settings. We'll remove your data within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Children, schools and teachers

In plain English: Kids can use Jolly Grid with an adult in charge. Teachers and schools decide how it's used in class and are responsible for that. We keep student information to a minimum and never use it for ads.

Adult supervision

Jolly Grid is a set of tools, not a supervision or child-safety service. Children should use it under the supervision of a parent, guardian or teacher, who is responsible for deciding which tools and content are suitable and for supervising the child's use, including anything the child shares or types into shared boards.

Using Jolly Grid in a school

• Students can use our tools and join classroom whiteboards through a teacher's link without creating an account. Students under 13 must not create accounts.
• A teacher or school that directs students to use Jolly Grid confirms that it does so for an educational purpose, has any approval it needs from its school or district, and has given any notices and obtained any consents required by the laws that apply to it, such as the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and state student privacy laws.
• The school or teacher is responsible for its own acceptable-use rules and for how its staff and students use the Service. To the extent permitted by law, the school is responsible for claims arising from that use, other than claims caused by our own breach of these terms.
• Teachers are responsible for reviewing our materials before using them with students and for deciding whether they suit their students' ages and needs.

Shared and classroom whiteboards

• Anyone who has a board's share link can open it, so treat links like a classroom door key. Share them only with your students, and turn sharing off when you're done. Share links stop working after a period of inactivity.
• Don't put students' full names, photos, contact details, grades or other sensitive information on boards. Teachers are responsible for the content of their boards and for what students add to boards that allow editing.
• Whiteboards aren't a records system. Keep your own copies of anything you need to keep.

How we handle student information

• We use information from student use of the Service only to provide, secure and improve the Service.
• We don't show ads on Jolly Grid or sell student information. Our use of analytics and advertising-measurement tools is described in the Privacy Policy.
• We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without the consent required by law. If we learn we have, we'll delete it.

Parents' rights

A parent or guardian can ask us to review or delete any personal information we hold about their child by emailing legal@jollygrid.com. Where the information came through a school, we may refer the request to the school and act on its instructions.

Schools that need a signed data processing agreement or have questions about student data can contact legal@jollygrid.com. Organizations using JollyGrid Connect are covered by the Connect terms and DPA instead.

6. Content and intellectual property

Our designs

All designs, illustrations, worksheets, software and graphics on Jolly Grid are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Apart from the uses allowed in these terms and on our Copyright page, no rights are granted to you.

Your creations and uploads

You keep ownership of artwork you color, create or upload. When you choose to share or upload content on Jolly Grid, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, resize and make thumbnails of it so we can run the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already in backups (which expire on their normal schedule) or content others have remixed under a license you chose. The Showcase terms cover the extra rights you grant when publishing to the Showcase.

Your responsibility for content

Only upload content that you created or have permission to share, and that doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights. You are solely responsible for content you upload or publish, and for any claims that arise from it. We don't review uploads before they appear and don't endorse them. We may remove any content, without notice, that we believe breaks these terms or anyone's rights.

Educational content

Our worksheets and tools are general educational resources. They aren't tailored to any particular curriculum or student and aren't professional advice. Please review them before using them with students.

7. Copyright complaints

We respect copyright and respond to notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on Jolly Grid infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated copyright agent at legal@jollygrid.com (subject line "DMCA notice") that includes:

1. your physical or electronic signature;
2. a description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
3. the URL or other location of the material on Jolly Grid;
4. your name, address, phone number and email;
5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address with the details required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

Knowingly false notices or counter-notices can make you liable for damages.

8. Tool analytics

How we measure use of our creative tools. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

Export thumbnails

When you export a creation from Mandala Studio, we save a small thumbnail (about 120 pixels) of your design, once per session regardless of how many times or formats you export. This helps us understand what people make so we can improve the tool.

Thumbnails are not linked to your account, are too low-resolution to use as artwork, and are never shared publicly.

Session analytics

We collect session data such as which features you use, how long you spend, and your device and browser type. This data is not linked to your account. We use your IP address at the moment of your visit to estimate an approximate location (country and city) using a database on our own servers; tool analytics keep that approximate location, not the IP address.

Our servers may log IP addresses for security and fraud prevention, and feedback submissions store a one-way hash of the IP address to stop spam, as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Community standards

Be kind & supportive

Encourage fellow creators and offer constructive feedback. No harassment, bullying or hate.

Keep it family-friendly

Our community includes children. Share only content that's appropriate for all ages.

Share original work

Only share artwork you created or have permission to share, and give credit where it's due.

Protect privacy

Don't post personal information about yourself or others, especially children.

We may review, moderate or remove community content, but we don't pre-screen everything and aren't responsible for content posted by users. Report anything inappropriate to legal@jollygrid.com.

10. Download credits

Some downloads use free credits that come with your account each month. Credits have no cash value, can't be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and may reset at the start of each period instead of carrying over. We may change how credits work, or stop offering them, at any time.

11. Giveaways and raffles

If we run a giveaway, raffle or contest, it will have its own Official Rules on its campaign page covering who can enter, how to enter, dates, prizes and how winners are chosen. Those rules apply alongside these terms. Giveaways are void where prohibited.

12. Purchases and support

Jolly Grid's tools and printables are free. Printed copies of our books are sold through Amazon, so orders, delivery and refunds are handled under Amazon's terms. Voluntary support through Buy Me a Coffee is handled under Buy Me a Coffee's terms and doesn't unlock any features. If we ever sell products directly, the terms of sale will be shown before you check out.

13. Tools, printables and results

In plain English: Our tools are free and we fix problems as fast as we can, but they won't always work perfectly. Check anything important before you rely on it.

• Tools may have bugs, give wrong or incomplete results, look or print differently on different devices, browsers and printers, or stop working for a while. This includes generated worksheets, puzzles, answer keys, calculations and exports.
• Check generated content, especially answer keys and anything used for grading, before you use it with students or rely on it.
• Most tools run in your browser and save work on your device. Clearing your browser data, switching devices or an update can lose unsaved or locally saved work. Keep your own copies.
• We may change, replace or remove tools and features at any time, and we aren't required to keep any tool available or to provide support.
• Some features rely on third parties, such as browsers, printers, hosting and embedded content. We aren't responsible for their failures.

Report problems to us through the feedback option in our tools (where available) or our contact form. Reporting a problem doesn't create an obligation for us to fix it by any particular time.

14. Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use Jolly Grid, including people with disabilities. We design with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA in mind and keep improving, but some tools and printables, especially highly visual ones like drawing and coloring tools, may not yet be fully accessible with every assistive technology.

If you have trouble accessing any part of Jolly Grid, contact us through our contact form or at legal@jollygrid.com. Tell us the page and the problem, and we'll try to fix it or give you the content another way.

Schools are responsible for checking that any tool they choose meets their own accessibility obligations for their students.

15. The fine print

Suspension and termination

In plain English: If you seriously break these terms, we can suspend or close your account.

We may suspend or terminate your access, or remove content, if you break these terms, if required by law, or to protect users or the Service. For minor issues we'll usually warn you first. We may also change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Sections 5, 6, 7 and 15 survive termination.

No warranties

In plain English: We work hard on Jolly Grid, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free or right for your needs.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Jolly Grid is not a storage or backup service; keep your own copies of anything important.

Limitation of liability

In plain English: If something goes wrong, our responsibility is limited.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jolly Grid and its owners, staff and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, content, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) US $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you; nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Indemnity

If you use the Service in breach of these terms or the law, or upload content that infringes someone's rights, you agree to cover any reasonable costs, damages and legal fees we incur because of a third-party claim about it. This doesn't apply to the extent the claim is caused by our own actions.

Governing law and disputes

In plain English: Let's try to sort things out by email first. If we can't, Washington State law applies.

If you have a dispute with us, email legal@jollygrid.com first and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that isn't resolved informally will be heard exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Washington State, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, you keep any protections that the mandatory laws of your home country or state give you.

Other terms

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any feature terms mentioned in section 2, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For significant changes, we'll show a notice on the site before they take effect. Changes don't apply to disputes that arose before they were posted. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the new terms; if you don't agree, stop using the Service and you can delete your account.

17. Common questions

Can I use coloring pages for my small business?

For commercial use (like selling printed materials or using them in paid classes), you'll need a commercial license. Check our Copyright page for licensing options. Personal use, including in non-profit educational settings, is free.

What happens if I accidentally break a rule?

For minor, unintentional mistakes, we'll reach out with a friendly reminder. Repeated or intentional violations are handled more seriously.

Can I share downloads with friends?

You can share a few pages with friends and family for personal enjoyment. Just don't redistribute our collection or share your account login.

Do these terms apply to printed books bought on Amazon?

The printed book itself is sold by Amazon under their terms. The artwork inside is still ours: you can color it and copy pages for your own family or classroom, but not resell or redistribute it.
