Mandala Showcase Terms of Use

Welcome to the Mandala Showcase community! By using our showcase feature to publish, share, or view mandala artwork, you agree to the following terms.

1. Content Ownership & License

You retain ownership of the mandalas you create and publish. However, by publishing to the Showcase, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

  • Display your work on our platform
  • Include your work in galleries, collections, and promotional materials
  • Create thumbnails and previews of your work

2. Remix & Derivative Works

When you publish a mandala, you choose a remix license that determines how others may use your work:

  • No Remixing Allowed: Others may view and like your work, but cannot create derivative works without your explicit permission.
  • Remix with Credit: Others may create remixes but must credit you as the original creator.
  • Free to Remix: Others may freely remix your work for any purpose.

3. Content Guidelines

You agree that your published content will:

  • Be your original creation or a properly attributed remix
  • Not contain inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
  • Not infringe on others' intellectual property rights
  • Not contain hidden messages or imagery that violates our community standards

4. Community Conduct

When interacting with other creators, you agree to:

  • Be respectful and constructive in comments and feedback
  • Credit original creators when creating remixes
  • Not engage in harassment, spam, or abusive behavior
  • Report violations of these terms

5. Takedown & Moderation

We reserve the right to:

  • Remove content that violates these terms
  • Suspend or ban accounts for repeated violations
  • Modify or update these terms with notice to users

6. Privacy

Your published mandalas will be visible to all users. Your profile information (username, avatar, bio) will be associated with your published works. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

7. NOT A STORAGE OR BACKUP SERVICE

IMPORTANT: The Mandala Showcase is a social sharing platform, NOT a storage, backup, or archival service for your artwork.

  • Publishing your mandala is for sharing with the community only
  • You are solely responsible for maintaining your own backups of any artwork you wish to preserve
  • We strongly recommend downloading and saving copies of your mandalas to your own device before publishing
  • Do not rely on the Showcase as the only copy of your work

8. Service Availability & Data Loss

We make no guarantees regarding service availability or data preservation:

  • The Showcase feature may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without prior notice
  • Database failures, technical issues, or other events may result in permanent loss of all published content
  • We may remove, delete, or reset content at our sole discretion for any reason
  • Server migrations, updates, or maintenance may result in data loss
  • We are under no obligation to maintain, backup, or restore any user content

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • We are NOT liable for any loss, damage, or deletion of your artwork, publications, or any associated data
  • We are not responsible for any emotional, financial, or other damages resulting from lost content
  • You waive any and all claims against us related to the loss, corruption, or unavailability of your published content
  • You acknowledge that the Showcase is provided as a free community feature and accept all associated risks
  • We are not responsible for user-generated content, disputes between users, or any third-party claims

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Showcase is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • Warranties regarding the preservation, integrity, or availability of any content
  • Warranties that defects will be corrected or that data will be recoverable

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the website operators, owners, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Showcase feature
  • Your published content
  • Your violation of these terms
  • Any third-party claims related to your artwork
